1) The Gadget Show #6 (15.09MB; download) -- I've been reading Wired Magazine for over 10 years, and Boing Boing for the last few. So it makes sense that I'm a fan of Xeni Jardin's work. She's heavily involved in both. When I asked if she'd be so kind as to be on the show, she enthusiastically agreed, and while storms lashed LA (again), Xeni suggested that people were hunkered down with their soy milk and manicurists, and I interviewed her while the mercury soared to 42 degree C (107 degrees Fahrenheit) in Perth.

Thanks for the chat Xeni, it was great fun!

2) The Mobiles Show #5 - Mobile Gaming (20.68MB; download) -- You can't have helped notice that this week saw the US launch of the Sony Playstation Portable. And while it's not directly a Mobile Phone / Smartphone, it (and the Nintendo Gameboy DS) are going to have a huge impact on the mobile gaming space. So this week, we're looking at that mobile gaming space, from the big players, to the new entrants, and the little people (and yes,we're still on that TGV ride...)

3) Podcast NYC: Pop Culture Rant #14 (10.68MB; download) -- It's open season on home improvers on this episode of the PCR. Your host is time constrained due to his own home improvement project. Where did all the small, personable hardware stores go? Listen in so you can feel his pain. Also, Whitney Houston and Tom Sizemore entering rehab...again. Seems like your host's prediction of big celeb screw ups in 2005 is coming true. Plus, more talk about the hit HBO show, Deadwood.

6) Episode 16: MACUL 2 -- 03-26-05 (11.29MB; download) -- We're back at the MACUL conference to talk with some educators. The bottom line is that the teachers and education leaders recognize that the only way to prepare children for a rapidly changing world is if teachers are able to adapt to change and do it with insight, purpose, reflection, and a lot of information.

I tell two stories in this podcast, one from Seymour Pappert that most educators have probably already heard. But, since many of my listeners are not classroom teachers, but parents and other community members, I want to bring home the point that although much has happened in the last decades and the last century, how we define the job of teaching has not. I also tell a personal story at the end, but just give it a listen.
